Igiaba Scego 2

Igiaba Scego is an Italian writer, journalist, and activist of Somali origin.

In 2016 the Swedish publishing house Contempo translated her novel “Adua“, a story that deals with migration, racism, belonging and identity issues.

Now Igiaba Scego presents “La linea del colore” (Bompiani), a coming-of-age story that follows two timelines set between the contemporary Rome and the 19th Century Rome.

This historical novel tells the story of Lafanu Brown, an Afro-American painter inspired by two figures who really existed, and her trip to Italy. This novel is a female fresco in which past and present interweave and the author’s major topics – colonialism, the history of Somalia, the right to travel – return.

Will this book be translated in Swedish as well?
We definitely hope so!

Swedish publishing houses, this is your occasion! 😉
